David Corenswet compares Man of Tomorrow to The Empire Strikes Back

Actor David Corenswet has drawn parallels between the upcoming film ‘Man of Tomorrow’ and ‘Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back’. In recent interviews, Corenswet noted that the excitement of the new film lies in re-engaging with characters who have established histories, much like the reunion of Luke, Han, and Leia in the classic Star Wars sequel.

Corenswet explained that director James Gunn intends to evolve the relationships between Superman and Lex Luthor, as well as Clark Kent and Lois Lane, into a ‘second phase’. While these connections are more established at the start of the film, the central tension involves these bonds being put at risk. The plot reportedly involves an unlikely alliance between Superman and Luthor to confront the villain Brainiac.

‘Man of Tomorrow’ is scheduled for theatrical release in July 2027.
