David Dastmalchian to play M. Bison in upcoming live‑action Street Fighter film

Actor David Dastmalchian, known for roles in Ant‑Man and Suicide Squad, confirmed he will portray the villain M. Bison in the new live‑action Street Fighter movie directed by Kitao Sakurai. He said he felt insecure because he is not the “big, imposing titan” many picture for the role, and Sakurai replied that the film will tell a different story.

The director explained that the movie will focus on the human side of the Shadaloo leader, exploring why people follow Bison. The ensemble cast also includes Noah Centineo as Ken, Andrew Koji as Ryu, Callina Liang as Chun‑Li, Cody Rhodes as Guile and several other actors and athletes.

Set around a World Warrior tournament, the film is scheduled for theatrical release on 15 October 2026 (Brazil) and 16 October 2026 (U.S.). It continues the long‑running Street Fighter video‑game franchise, one of the most profitable in gaming history.
