Carlos Alcaraz to compete in 2026 Davis Cup Finals in Bologna

Spanish tennis star Carlos Alcaraz has confirmed his intention to participate in the 2026 Davis Cup Finals in Bologna, scheduled for November 24–29. This follows his recent recovery from a significant injury and his participation in the Laver Cup.

Spain secured its place in the Final 8 after a 4-0 victory against Chile. Spanish captain David Ferrer addressed recent speculation regarding Alcaraz’s absence from the qualifying matches in Chile, clarifying that the decision was based on physical caution rather than a refusal to play. Ferrer noted that Alcaraz was recovering from injury and was uncertain about his ability to handle the physical demands of best-of-five-set matches.

Alcaraz expressed optimism about his physical condition, stating he is improving daily and simply needs more match play to regain his rhythm. The Spanish team, which includes players like Rafa Jodar, Daniel Merida, and Marcel Granollers, will face Austria in the opening round of the Finals.
