David Ferrera expands medical device ventures into Middle East and Africa
David Ferrera, CEO of RC Medical, has announced the expansion of his physician-led venture studio model into the Middle East and Africa (MEA). The new ventures will focus on neurovascular intervention technologies and medical device manufacturing.
The initiative aims to combine physician collaboration, engineering, and product development with regional manufacturing capabilities to address local clinical needs. This model involves working directly with clinicians to identify procedural challenges and develop practical device solutions through testing and commercialization.
Ferrera brings nearly 30 years of experience in the medical device sector, having previously co-founded companies such as Micrus Endovascular, Blockade Medical, and MindFrame, which were acquired by major industry players including Johnson & Johnson, Balt, and Covidien.
