David Fincher to Direct 'Cliff Booth' Sequel for Netflix

Sony Pictures chairman Tom Rothman said the sequel to Quentin Tarantino’s 2019 film *Once Upon a Time in Hollywood* will be directed by David Fincher after Tarantino decided he would not direct the project. Rothman explained that Tarantino was only comfortable with Fincher, who is under an exclusive contract with Netflix, so the film moved to the streaming platform.

The movie, starring Brad Pitt as Cliff Booth, is slated to finish post‑production in October, debut in IMAX theaters on November 25 for four weeks, and then begin streaming on Netflix on December 23. The original film earned over $377 million worldwide and won ten Academy Award nominations, making the sequel a high‑profile follow‑up.
