David Gaider says Dragon Age series has no clear future after Veilguard

Former BioWare lead writer David Gaider told PC Gamer that he will never play Dragon Age: The Veilguard, saying he would “wince the whole time.” He criticized Electronic Arts for handicapping the development team and argued that the publisher’s low expectations and marketing attitude have left the franchise without a viable path forward. Gaider noted that while past titles like Dragon Age: Inquisition sold over 12 million copies, EA’s focus has shifted toward the Mass Effect series, and the modest 1.5 million player count for Veilguard was below EA’s internal target. He warned that under EA’s stewardship the Dragon Age series could be abandoned, though no official cancellation has been announced.

EA and BioWare have not commented on the future of the franchise, and the series’ continuation remains uncertain.
