David Gaudu ends 2026 cycling season early due to fatigue

Professional cyclist David Gaudu has ended his 2026 season early due to significant fatigue, according to an announcement by his team, Groupama-FDJ United.

Following medical examinations conducted at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), it was determined that Gaudu requires an extended period of recovery. The team noted that this fatigue is part of a pattern involving several seasons marked by injuries, which have complicated his preparation and recovery processes.

Gaudu, who is under contract with Groupama-FDJ United until the end of 2027, has not competed since the Polynormande on August 16. He will now focus on rest to prepare for the 2027 season. His best result during the 2026 season was a fifth-place finish at the Boucles de l’Aulne in May.
