David Hogg Calls for DNC Chairman Ken Martin’s Removal

Gun‑control activist and former Democratic National Committee (DNC) vice‑chair David Hogg urged the ouster of DNC Chairman Ken Martin, describing the party’s leadership as “geriatric” and out of touch with younger voters. Hogg, who leads the progressive group Leaders We Deserve, said the Democratic Party needs “fighters” and warned that ignoring voters’ concerns about the economy, the presidency and international conflicts will cost the party support.

He cited a June 11, 2025 DNC vote that removed him from his vice‑chair position and noted he stepped down after that vote. Hogg’s criticism was aired in an NPR interview, where he called for broader leadership changes to make the party more representative of its younger base.
