David Jolly leads Byron Donalds in Florida campaign funding

Democratic candidates in Florida are receiving higher amounts of state public campaign finance funds compared to their Republican opponents, driven by a program that matches small-dollar donations of $250 or less from Florida residents.

In the race for governor, former U.S. Representative David Jolly has received $2.1 million from the state program since July 17, while Republican candidate Byron Donalds has received $932,000. Jolly has raised a total of $8.2 million through his campaign account, while Donalds has raised $13.3 million. Additionally, the Friends of Byron Donalds PAC has raised $107.6 million.

In the race for attorney general, former state Senator Jose Javier Rodriguez received $4,708 in recent state distributions, whereas Republican candidate James Uthmeier received $675. Jolly and Donalds are the only candidates among the eight appearing on the November ballot to utilize the voter-approved public financing program.
