FCSB secures Eddy Gnahore from Dinamo in high‑profile transfer
Romanian club FCSB, owned by Gigi Becali, is set to sign 32‑year‑old French midfielder Eddy Gnahore after his contract with Dinamo Bucharest expired at the end of June 2024. Becali confirmed the move, calling it a major coup over the club’s rival. Former Dinamo players and analysts, including Florin Prunea and Ilie Dumitrescu, described the deal as “the transfer of the summer” and a very good acquisition for FCSB.
Dinamo president Andrei Nicolescu said the club did not offer Gnahore an extension because the new coach preferred a different profile, adding, “Eddy Gnahore is a professional player making the best decision for his career.” Gnahore played 43 matches for Dinamo last season, scoring two goals and providing two assists, while posting strong defensive numbers (68 % duels won, 328 recoveries). He is expected to become one of FCSB’s highest‑paid players as the team rebuilds after nine departures this summer.
The transfer highlights the ongoing rivalry between the two Bucharest clubs and could reshape FCSB’s midfield options for the upcoming Liga 1 campaign.
