David Lee Roth celebrates birthday

American rock musician, vocalist, and songwriter David Lee Roth was born on October 10, 1954. He is most widely recognized as the original frontman for the legendary hard rock band Van Halen, serving with the group from 1978 to 1984 and again from 2006 to 2015.

Roth earned the nickname ‘Diamond Dave’ due to his unique stage presence, acrobatic performances, and provocative personality. His career began in California, where he performed with local groups such as the Red Ball Jets before joining the Van Halen brothers, Eddie and Alex, to form the band that released its self-titled debut album in 1978.
