David Malukas apologizes for criticizing Chevrolet after Milwaukee race

IndyCar driver David Malukas has issued a social media apology following disparaging remarks made about Chevrolet after the Milwaukee Mile race. After finishing second in the event, Malukas initially blamed the engine manufacturer for his loss of a potential first victory, stating, “Race 1, race 2, Chevy just let us down.”

Malukas noted that engine issues during a late-race restart allowed Pato O’Ward to overtake him. The 24-year-old driver later retracted his comments, describing them as “childish” and the result of speaking out of frustration. He acknowledged that Chevrolet has provided significant support throughout his season.
