David Ortiz named Honorary Ambassador of Dominican Republic's National Health Service

The National Health Service (SNS) of the Dominican Republic has named former Major League Baseball player David Ortiz as an Honorary Ambassador. The recognition was presented by SNS Executive Director Julio Landrón at the institution's headquarters.

Ortiz was honored for his professional sports career, his commitment to the Dominican Republic, and his social work supporting vulnerable children and communities. The distinction highlights his leadership through the David Ortiz Children's Fund and the David Ortiz Pediatric Cardiology Unit, which operates within CEDIMAT.

During the meeting, Landrón and Ortiz discussed potential collaborations between the public health network and Ortiz's social projects. Landrón also invited Ortiz and his team to visit various public health centers, including pediatric and trauma hospitals, to observe recent advancements and services provided by the national health network.
