David Petraeus warns Moldova could be next Russian target
Former CIA Director David Petraeus has warned that Moldova could be the next target for Russian President Vladimir Putin. Speaking at the Yalta European Strategy (YES) security conference, Petraeus argued that Moldova is more vulnerable than Baltic states like Lithuania because it is not a member of NATO.
Petraeus stated that Putin is constantly attempting to restore the Soviet Union. He also issued an alarm regarding the readiness of European nations, claiming they have failed to implement the revolutionary changes required in warfare, defense, and security concepts.
These warnings follow a recent incident where a Russian drone struck a passenger train locomotive on the Kyiv–Warsaw route, approximately two kilometers from the Polish border. Reports indicate Petraeus was traveling on that train at the time of the attack, which he described as an act of Russian terror against civilians.
