David Pujadas reflects on France 2 departure and future career

Journalist David Pujadas has addressed his 2017 departure from the France 2 news program, reflecting on the emotional impact of being replaced by Anne-Sophie Lapix after 16 years. During an interview on Puremédias l’Hebdo, Pujadas noted that he initially feared a nervous breakdown following the decision made by Delphine Ernotte, then president of France Télévisions, but ultimately felt a sense of gratitude for his tenure.

Pujadas also addressed speculation regarding a potential move to TF1 to host their flagship news program. He stated that he has “turned that page,” noting that he enjoyed his time as a primary news anchor but does not intend to repeat the same role indefinitely. He currently hosts programs on LCI, including “24h Pujadas” and the political show “La Grande Confrontation.”
