Manchester United targets left-back reinforcements for January window
Manchester United is actively seeking to strengthen its left-back position ahead of the January transfer window due to depth issues and injury concerns involving Luke Shaw and Patrick Dorgu.
One primary target is RB Leipzig defender David Raum. The 28-year-old German international is considered a serious option, with reports suggesting a fee of approximately £30 million could secure his services, especially as his current contract expires at the end of the season.
Alternatively, the club is monitoring Bayer Leverkusen’s Miguel Gutierrez. United faces competition from Real Madrid, AC Milan, and Juventus for the 25-year-old. While Leverkusen is reluctant to sell, a significant offer between €60 million and €70 million could change their stance.
To manage immediate shortages, United may also look toward academy graduate Amass or trigger a contract extension for current players to maintain squad stability.
