David Strelec linked with move from Middlesbrough to PAOK
Slovak striker David Strelec is reportedly nearing a move from English Championship side Middlesbrough to the Greek club PAOK Thessaloniki. According to reports from the Greek outlet Gazzetta, Strelec has already reached an agreement on personal terms with PAOK, who have identified the 25-year-old as a top transfer priority.
However, Middlesbrough's sporting director, Kieran Scott, has expressed uncertainty regarding the deal. Speaking on BBC Tees, Scott stated that the club has not yet been contacted by PAOK, noting, “If they have agreed on something, then they have agreed, but they haven't called us.”
Strelec joined Middlesbrough in September 2025 from Slovan Bratislava for approximately €7.5 million. During his first season in England, he scored eight goals in 32 league appearances. His playing time may be threatened by increased competition following the arrival of Will Lankshear from Tottenham. If the transfer is finalized, Strelec would become the seventh Slovak footballer to play for the Thessaloniki-based club.
