Davide Ancelotti appointed head coach of Lille OSC

Lille OSC announced that Davide Ancelotti, the 36‑year‑old Italian and son of Carlo Ancelotti, has signed a two‑year contract to become the club’s head coach, taking over from Bruno Genesio. The deal runs until the summer of 2028 and comes after Lille finished third in Ligue 1, securing a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League.

Ancelotti brings extensive experience as an assistant at top European clubs—including Paris Saint‑Germain, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Napoli and Everton—as well as a stint as head coach of Botafogo in Brazil in 2025, where he guided the team to sixth place and a Copa Libertadores berth. He has also served on the coaching staff of the Brazil national team. Upon his appointment, Ancelotti said, “I am very proud and happy,” and praised Lille’s “clear identity, high standards and hard‑working ethos.” The club’s president Olivier Létang expressed confidence that Ancelotti “has all the qualities to develop the project and compete at the highest level.”
