Davide Ancelotti calls Toni Kroos irreplaceable at Real Madrid

Davide Ancelotti, the current Lille manager and former collaborator of Carlo Ancelotti, has commented on the irreplaceable impact of Toni Kroos at Real Madrid. In an interview with AS, he noted that the departure of the German midfielder, alongside the limited presence of Luka Modrić, has deprived the team of a critical ability to control the tempo of matches.

Ancelotti emphasized that Kroos was unique, stating, “You lose something that you will never get back. He was the best player in the world in his position. You cannot say ‘I need another Kroos,’ because there is no other Kroos.” He highlighted not only Kroos's technical passing precision but also his football intelligence and ability to dictate the rhythm of a game.

When asked about players who could offer similar qualities, Ancelotti mentioned Manchester City's Rodri, describing him as a “special player” who “would fit anywhere.” However, he maintained that Real Madrid should not obsess over finding a direct successor to Kroos due to the player's singular nature, expressing confidence that the team will remain competitive regardless.
