Davide Brivio advocates for more MotoGP urban street circuits

Davide Brivio, Team Principal of Trackhouse Racing, is advocating for MotoGP to expand its calendar with more urban street circuits, following the models used by Formula 1 and Formula E. Brivio argues that bringing races into major cities would increase accessibility and fan engagement, noting that many current MotoGP locations are isolated and difficult for the global fanbase to reach.

While acknowledging the significant safety concerns associated with street tracks—highlighted by the upcoming 2027 MotoGP debut in Adelaide—Brivio maintains that such races are feasible if rigorous safety standards are implemented. He suggests that moving toward city-based venues, similar to F1's presence in Miami and Las Vegas, is the direction major sports are heading to stay close to their audience.

Reflecting on his professional background, Brivio also compared the technical and structural differences between Formula 1 and MotoGP. He noted that F1 involves more continuous communication between drivers and engineers, whereas MotoGP riders often operate with more individual autonomy once a race begins. He also credited Valentino Rossi as a pivotal figure in his career.
