Italy prepares for Nations League as Inter eyes River Plate talent

Italy prepares for its UEFA Nations League opener against Belgium under head coach Roberto Mancini. Captain Gianluigi Donnarumma expressed his happiness regarding Mancini's return to the helm, noting the strong bond established during their Euro 2020 victory. Mancini has indicated that winning and playing well are the primary requirements to restore confidence to the squad. Tactical adjustments are expected, including potential shifts for players like Calafiori and the inclusion of a new midfield presence in Romano.

In transfer news, Inter Milan is closely monitoring River Plate goalkeeper Santiago Beltrán as a potential successor to Josep Martinez. Beltrán, an Argentine international, is attracting interest from several European clubs, including Manchester United and Aston Villa. While River Plate is attempting to negotiate a contract extension to increase his release clause, European interest remains high. Additionally, Barcelona's sporting director Deco confirmed that while Lautaro Martinez was a target, the club respected Inter's decision not to enter negotiations, though they maintain a high regard for the player.
