Davide Simone Cavallo named ‘poliziotto ad honorem’ in Milan
Davide Simone Cavallo has been named ‘poliziotto ad honorem’ by the Chief of Police, Vittorio Pisani, during national celebrations for San Michele Arcangelo in Milan. The 23-year-old from Ragusa was honored for his extraordinary act of forgiveness following a brutal assault near Corso Como in October 2025.
During the legal proceedings, Cavallo requested to approach his attackers not to seek vengeance, but to embrace and forgive them, a sentiment he had previously expressed in a letter. The honorary title, established in 2020 by the Department of Public Security, is intended to recognize citizens whose actions embody the core values of the State Police.
The ceremony took place at Teatro alla Scala in the presence of Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi and approximately 1,200 students. The event was part of a broader day of activities focused on social awareness, including topics such as cyber security, bullying, and respect for diversity.
