Davido and other Nigerian artists submit works for 2027 Grammy consideration

Several prominent Nigerian music artists, including Davido, Asake, Tems, and Ayra Starr, have submitted works for consideration for the 2027 Grammy Awards. The submissions cover various categories such as Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best African Music Performance.

Davido has entered his sixth studio album, ‘Oriade’, for Album of the Year and Best Global Music Album. His tracks ‘B4 B4’, ‘Nakupenda’, and ‘Le Show’ have also been submitted across multiple categories, including Best African Music Performance. Asake has submitted his album ‘M$NEY’ for Album of the Year and Best Global Music Album, along with the song ‘Gratitude’ for several major categories.

These submissions are part of the preliminary process ahead of the Recording Academy’s first-round voting, which is scheduled to take place from October 12 to October 22, 2026. While these entries place the artists in contention, they do not guarantee official nominations, which are expected to be announced on November 16, 2026.
