Davido and Wande Coal clash over unreleased song remix
Nigerian Afrobeats artists Davido and Wande Coal have engaged in a public dispute over the unreleased remix of the 2021 song ‘Come My Way’.
During a podcast interview, Davido claimed the collaboration failed to materialize because of a disagreement regarding the release format. He stated that Wande Coal intended to release the original version first and then use Davido’s contribution as a remix, a proposal Davido rejected because he did not record the track specifically as a remix. Davido also alleged that Wande Coal has been seeking his attention for about a year.
Wande Coal responded via social media, disputing Davido’s version of events. He asserted that the song already had a scheduled release date and accused Davido of attempting to dictate the release plan for a song that did not belong to him. Wande Coal further noted that the track achieved success without Davido’s involvement. The exchange included personal taunts between the two artists on social media.
