Davido calls for mindset shifts and political reform in Nigeria

Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, known as Davido, has expressed concern regarding governance, injustice, and economic hardship in Nigeria. During an appearance on the I Wanna Talk podcast, the singer reflected on the 2020 EndSARS protests, noting that while he initially believed the demonstrations would spark meaningful change, the momentum faded as public attention shifted.

Davido criticized the political landscape, alleging that individuals who campaign against poor leadership often change their positions once they assume power. He argued that national improvement requires a transformation in both political leadership and the mindset of the citizenry, stating, “We can’t change our society until we change our mindset as a people.”

Despite his privileged background, the singer noted his concern for the country's direction and acknowledged the disconnect between his own experiences and the severe economic hardships faced by many Nigerians.
