Davido named Nigeria’s most influential person under 40

Asa Asika, manager to the Afrobeats singer Davido, has identified the artist as Nigeria’s most influential person under the age of 40. Speaking on the Manager’s Playbook podcast, Asika cited Davido’s massive social media following and commercial appeal as primary metrics of this influence, describing the singer as a “walking billboard” for major brands.

Asika also revealed that he and Davido are co-owners of Inter Lagos, a football club that has recently secured promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) from the lower-tier Nigeria National League (NNL). Asika explained that the club is part of a broader business strategy spanning music, sports, and lifestyle, emphasizing a long-term approach to building the sports venture.
