Davido Says He Won’t Push His Children Into Music Careers

Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido (David Adeleke) explained that he is hesitant to encourage any of his six children to pursue music, citing the pressures and sacrifices he faced while building his own career. In a recent interview on The Vibe podcast, he said, “I don’t want any of my children to pursue music. I know what I went through; can they go through it?”

He noted that his second daughter, Hailey Veronica Adeleke, already shows musical talent and a strong stage presence, but he clarified that he would not block her—or any of his children—if they truly wish to follow a musical path, adding, “If they are good, why not?” The comments reflect Davido’s personal experience in the industry and his desire to let his children choose their own futures.
