Davido sets London live debut and launches direct sales for album Oriade

Afrobeats star Davido announced that his upcoming album Oriade will be performed live for the first time on 11 August at the O2 Forum in Kentish Town, London, with tickets now on sale. The 13‑track album, marking fifteen years of his career, is slated for a worldwide streaming release on 31 July 2026.

Ahead of the streaming launch, Davido introduced a direct‑to‑consumer sales platform offering the album in Nigerian naira, Ghanaian cedi, Kenyan shilling and South African rand at a pre‑order price of $7.99. The initiative aims to give African fans local‑currency access and improve artist revenue compared with traditional streaming royalties.

The album title Oriade combines Yoruba words for “destiny” and “crown,” and its lead single “I Know Who I Be” features South African producers. The dual strategy of a high‑profile live show and localized sales reflects a broader shift in the African music industry toward greater control over distribution and earnings.
