Davina McCall reveals cardiovascular disease diagnosis

Television presenter Davina McCall has revealed she has been diagnosed with cardiovascular disease. The announcement was made on her podcast, ‘Begin Again’, as part of a discussion regarding women's health and the importance of cardiovascular awareness for post-menopausal women.

McCall, who has previously faced health challenges including a brain tumour and breast cancer, noted that she had long-standing high cholesterol. She explained that it was previously believed her high levels of ‘good’ cholesterol offset the negative effects, but she is now highlighting the importance of monitoring these warning signs.

During the podcast, which featured a heart attack survivor and a cardiologist, McCall urged listeners not to ignore symptoms and to proactively check blood pressure and cholesterol levels, stating, “If there’s one takeaway today, it’s not to brush things off.”
