Davinia García Caballero opens wine-pigment exhibition in Tomelloso

Illustrator Davinia García Caballero has inaugurated ‘A palo seco’, her first individual exhibition, at the Casa de las Artes y las Letras de La Mancha (CALMA) in Tomelloso. The exhibition features five works that utilize local wine as the sole pigment, exploring the identity, memory, and culture of the region.

García Caballero, a graduate of the Escuela de Arte Antonio López, developed the project as her final studies assignment. The works use various wine varieties, including Cabernet, Tempranillo, Merlot, Garnacha, and Graciano, to create illustrations that connect local literature, music, and history. The exhibition is scheduled to remain open at CALMA until October 4.

The event was attended by local municipal representatives, including Culture Councilor Inés Losa and Municipal Library Director Carmen Labrador. Following the exhibition, the artist is set to move to Milan to pursue further training through an Erasmus scholarship.
