DaVita reports lower revenue per treatment but reaffirms 2026 earnings outlook

DaVita Inc. announced its second‑quarter 2024 results, showing revenue per dialysis treatment of $415.87, down from $417.59 in the prior quarter. The company said the decline stemmed from fewer enrollments as patients exited Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) plans after pandemic‑era subsidies ended, and from reduced sales of phosphate binders.

Adjusted earnings were $4.02 per share, beating analysts' estimate of $3.88, while quarterly revenue reached $3.55 billion, roughly matching the $3.50 billion forecast. The firm reaffirmed its 2026 adjusted earnings‑per‑share guidance of $14.10‑$15.20 and warned of an estimated $40 million head‑wind in 2026 and about $70 million in 2027 from the ACA subsidy expiry. Shares fell up to 7% in after‑hours trading.
