Dawn Richard files lawsuit against Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs alleging sexual assault

Singer Dawn Richard has filed a lawsuit against music mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, alleging sexual assault, battery, and extreme verbal abuse. The legal action, filed in New York Supreme Court under the Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Law, covers alleged incidents occurring between 2004 and 2012 during Richard’s time with Danity Kane and Diddy-Dirty Money.

Richard alleges that Combs frequently entered her changing rooms without consent and touched her inappropriately. The complaint also details a December 2010 incident where, following an altercation, a bodyguard allegedly forced Richard into Combs’ Bentley and locked her inside. Richard claims she was trapped for hours on a freezing night without a coat, phone, or heat, experiencing ‘sheer panic’.

Additionally, the lawsuit claims Combs retaliated against Richard by withholding compensation and removing her from musical tracks after she rejected his advances. This new filing follows the dismissal of a previous civil case against Combs in June. Combs is currently serving a 50-month federal prison sentence for charges including sex trafficking and racketeering, with a projected release date in February 2028.
