DAX tops 26,000 as US‑Iran talks ease oil prices

U.S. President Donald Trump announced the cancellation of a planned large‑scale attack on Iran and said new talks would be opened. The announcement sent oil prices tumbling – Brent fell about 7 % to roughly $83 per barrel – easing inflation and interest‑rate concerns.

The drop in energy prices, together with strong quarterly earnings from technology firms such as Microsoft and Amazon, lifted equity markets. The German DAX opened above 25,900 points, broke the 26,000‑point barrier and closed near 26,001, a record high. The EuroStoxx 50 rose about 0.7 % and the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained roughly 1 %.

Analysts linked the rally to the reduced risk of a wider Middle‑East conflict, lower energy costs and continued momentum in the global tech sector.
