Dax Hill moves to slot cornerback for Cincinnati Bengals
The Cincinnati Bengals are adjusting their defensive secondary following a hamstring injury to starting slot cornerback Jalen Davis, who is expected to be sidelined for at least four weeks. Defensive coordinator Al Golden confirmed that Dax Hill will move back into the slot corner role to address the vacancy.
Hill, known for his versatility, has previously played nickel cornerback, safety, and outside corner during his tenure with the Bengals. This positional shift follows a period where Hill had established himself as a No. 2 cornerback on the outside. The team is also considering Josh Newton for active roster involvement following his absence during the first three weeks of the season.
In addition to Hill's move, the Bengals are evaluating depth at other positions, with DJ Ivey and rookie Tacario Davis expected to compete for snaps at the boundary corner spot.
