Daxi Wood Art Ecological Museum wins National Environmental Education Award

The Daxi Wood Art Ecological Museum has been awarded the Excellence Prize in the Institutional Category of the 10th National Environmental Education Awards by Taiwan's Ministry of Environment.

Taoyuan Mayor Chang Shan-cheng noted that the award demonstrates the diverse value of cultural venues in integrating environmental education with school curricula and community participation. The museum's approach follows the philosophy of ‘the town as an ecological museum,’ utilizing local knowledge and resources to promote circular economy principles.

Key initiatives include the Wood Art Small Classroom, waste recycling courses, and the use of local woodworking shops as environmental education sites. The museum aims to transform residents into active participants and interpreters of environmental education within the local ecosystem.
