Upper Main Line YMCA Wins Team Title as Futures Championships Conclude in Tennessee

Upper Main Line YMCA captured the combined team title at the 2026 YMCA Long Course National Championships in Ocala, Florida, finishing with 1,235.5 points. Greater Spartanburg YMCA placed second with 1,003 points, while the YMCA of the Jersey Shore took third with 858 points. Individual highlights included Ellison Charette of Greenwich winning the girls’ 1500‑meter freestyle in 17:19.28.

In Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Swimming’s Futures Championships wrapped up with several standout performances. Kentucky Aquatics’ Hayden Pennys posted a lifetime‑best 2:17.78 to win the men’s 200 IM, and Alexis Schmidt of Tennessee Aquatics recorded a personal best 26.22 seconds to claim the women’s 50 free. Payton Garnsey of Delaware Swim Team led the women’s 50 breast with a 32.15, while Milly Birch of Asphalt Green Unified Aquatics set a career best 16:49.18 in the women’s 1500 free.
