Dayana Yastremska's Odesa apartment destroyed by Russian missile

Ukrainian tennis professional Dayana Yastremska revealed on social media that her family apartment in Odesa was destroyed by a direct hit from a Russian Kalibr cruise missile. Sharing images and videos of the devastation, Yastremska noted that only a Roland Garros towel survived the strike.

Yastremska used the incident to criticize the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) and the International Tennis Federation (ITF) regarding their policy of allowing Russian players to compete under a neutral status. She urged the organizations to view the images of the destruction to understand the reality of the conflict from a Ukrainian perspective.

The loss follows a similar report from fellow Ukrainian player Elina Svitolina, who recently shared that her Padel club in Kyiv was heavily damaged by Russian strikes. Svitolina noted that 942 sports facilities in Ukraine have been damaged or destroyed since the invasion began, and that 776 Ukrainian athletes and sports officials have been killed.
