Dayann Methalie draws Sunderland and Bayer Leverkusen transfer interest

Sunderland have been linked with a move for Toulouse left‑back Dayann Methalie, the 20‑year‑old who recorded two goals and two assists in 30 Ligue 1 appearances last season. His contract runs until 2030, and the Black Cats see him as a potential addition to strengthen their defence.

German club Bayer Leverkusen are also monitoring Methalie, reportedly willing to meet a €30 million asking price as they look for a replacement for veteran right‑back Alejandro Grimaldo. The player has attracted interest from several other European sides, including Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Borussia Dortmund, AS Roma and Tottenham Hotspur.
