Dayforce to acquire Toronto-based Ribbon AI

Dayforce, a Canadian-led human resources software company, has announced an agreement to acquire Ribbon AI, a Toronto-based startup specializing in conversational recruitment technology. The acquisition aims to integrate Ribbon’s voice and video AI into Dayforce’s human capital management platform to create an ‘agentic recruiting’ experience.

Ribbon AI’s technology conducts automated screening interviews by generating questions based on job descriptions and engaging candidates in two-way verbal conversations. The system uses interview transcripts to evaluate candidates and employs video and audio integrity checks to flag unusual patterns. The goal is to automate time-sensitive manual tasks, such as initial screening, allowing recruiters to focus on final decision-making and talent engagement.

Ribbon AI was founded in 2022 by CEO Arsham Ghahramani and COO Dave Vu. The company previously raised US$8.2 million in early 2025. Financial terms and the specific closing date for the Dayforce acquisition were not disclosed.
