Winter time transition 2026 scheduled for late October

The transition to winter time in 2026 is scheduled for the night between Saturday, October 24, and Sunday, October 25. This marks the earliest occurrence of the clock change in 11 years, as the final weekend of October falls on the 25th.

During this transition, clocks will be set back by one hour at 3:00 AM to 2:00 AM, resulting in a 25-hour Sunday. While most modern smart devices will synchronize automatically, manual adjustments are required for analog clocks and vehicle timers.

Medical experts warn that the shift can disrupt the body's circadian rhythm, potentially causing fatigue, sleep difficulties, irritability, and lack of concentration. While most healthy individuals adapt within a few days, children, adolescents, shift workers, and the elderly may experience more significant impacts. Some studies have also investigated links between seasonal time changes and temporary fluctuations in blood pressure and metabolic health.
