Daylight Saving Time ends November 1, 2026

Daylight saving time is scheduled to end on Sunday, November 1, 2026, as clocks move back one hour from 2 a.m. to 1 a.m. local time. This transition marks the return to standard time across much of North America, effectively creating a 25-hour day for residents.

While most digital devices update automatically, manual adjustments are required for analog clocks, appliances, and vehicle dashboards. The shift will result in earlier sunrises and significantly darker evenings.

Several regions do not participate in the time change, including Hawaii and most of Arizona. In Canada, Yukon and most of Saskatchewan remain on standard time, while Alberta is noted as an exception joining the transition on this date. For households with children or pets, experts suggest gradually shifting meal and sleep schedules in 15-minute increments to mitigate the impact on internal biological clocks.
