DayOne plans November IPO for data center operations
Singapore-based data center operator DayOne intends to proceed with its initial public offering (IPO) in November, despite rising interest rates and recent setbacks within the sector. The company, which provides infrastructure for cloud computing and artificial intelligence, plans to file its registration with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in mid-October.
The move comes amid a shifting landscape for AI infrastructure. While some companies face challenges, such as the postponement of the SB Energy IPO and a dispute between Oracle and Blue Owl affecting a project in New Mexico, investors are increasingly prioritizing operators with diversified clients and guaranteed electricity supplies.
Ke Yan, head of research at Shenton Research, noted that the market is maturing, with a clear distinction between companies with contracted, operational demand and those relying solely on planned capacity. Investors are currently favoring operators with secured power supplies and long-term 'take-or-pay' contracts.
