Daz Ahmed extends Gloucestershire contract until 2027

Gloucestershire all-rounder Daaryoush ‘Daz’ Ahmed has signed a contract extension that secures his position with the club through the end of the 2027 season. The Bristol native has developed through the Gloucestershire Cricket Academy, the South Asian Cricket Academy (SACA), and the MCC Young Cricketers programme.

Ahmed’s recent performances provided strong justification for the extension. During the 2026 County Championship, he recorded a career-high first-class score of 90 not out against Middlesex, contributing to a crucial 144-run partnership that helped secure a draw. His bowling also saw success, including a six-wicket haul in the same campaign. In the One Day Cup, he recorded bowling figures of 4-56 and achieved his maiden half-century against Somerset.

Gloucestershire director of cricket Jon Lewis noted the player’s dedication and the club’s intent to invest in his future. Ahmed expressed his commitment to the club, stating that Gloucestershire holds significant meaning for him and his family due to his roots in Bristol.
