Daz Dillinger discusses Suge Knight's role in Cam'ron production dispute

Producer Daz Dillinger has provided additional context regarding a past conflict involving Suge Knight and rapper Cam'ron. Dillinger confirmed that he recreated the beat for Tupac Shakur’s “Ambitionz Az a Ridah” for Cam'ron’s 2002 song “Live My Life,” which appeared on the album “Come Home With Me.”

Dillinger alleged that although he produced the track at Baseline Studios in New York, he did not receive official production credit because Suge Knight was harassing individuals at Roc-A-Fella Records. Dillinger claimed that credit was instead given to another producer to finish the music. He further noted that Knight may not have had legal control over the music at the time due to Death Row's bankruptcy.

Dillinger also stated that he continues to receive royalties whenever artists use recognizable riffs or lyrics from “Ambitionz Az a Ridah,” citing works by artists such as The Game, Meek Mill, and Lil Wayne as examples of successful sample clearances.
