DB Insurance launches AI-based ADAS image reading service
DB Insurance has launched an industry-first ‘ADAS AI Automatic Reading Service’ for automotive insurance, utilizing generative artificial intelligence to analyze images of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
By training the AI model on over 70,000 evidentiary images, the company aims to automate the verification process for various discount special contracts, including Smart Cruise Control (SCC), Forward Collision Warning (FCA), Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCA), Lane Departure Warning (LKA), Head-Up Display (HUD), and Around View Monitor (AVM). This technology is intended to reduce contract waiting times and improve accuracy, particularly when dealing with low-quality images that previously required manual review.
The company is currently applying for a patent for this technology. This move follows other recent digital initiatives by DB Insurance, such as an AI-based black box accident analysis system and an AI OCR system for mileage-based insurance settlements.
