Dębica schools undergo emergency evacuations

Schools in Dębica, Poland, underwent emergency evacuations on Thursday, causing significant distress among students. At Primary School No. 5, students were moved to safe areas under teacher supervision, with some children experiencing panic and crying, particularly those who had previously fled the war in Ukraine.

At the Second General High School in Dębica, approximately 500 students were moved to the ground floor to stay away from windows due to the building's structure. School officials confirmed that all emergency procedures were followed according to established safety plans.

In light of such events, Polish government regulations regarding population evacuation emphasize that parents should not immediately rush to schools during an emergency. Such actions can block roads needed by emergency services, military, or transport buses. Authorities advise following official communications, as children may be moved to designated safe locations or reception points rather than remaining at their original school buildings.
