Débora Nascimento discusses beauty as a career obstacle

Brazilian actress Débora Nascimento shared reflections on how her physical appearance has impacted her professional career. During an interview on the podcast ‘Odeio Cinema’, the 41-year-old artist explained that her beauty often acted as a barrier, forcing her to work harder to prove her acting capabilities to directors and casting producers.

Nascimento noted that there is a societal perception in Brazil that beautiful women lack the right to lead complex or normal lives. She stated that she has moved toward embracing her beauty without using it to secure stereotypical roles, as she prefers characters that allow for greater artistic versatility.
