Dąbrowa Górnicza construction firms face debt crisis over TBS housing
Subcontractors involved in the construction of the first TBS housing blocks in Dąbrowa Górnicza are facing severe financial distress due to unpaid debts. Local entrepreneurs, including Tomasz Zub, report that the general contractor has failed to make payments, leading to bankruptcy threats, debt collection actions, and extreme psychological stress.
Legal representative Dawid Kurdziel stated that the general contractor failed to perform partial acceptances of completed works. This prevented subcontractors from issuing invoices and settling accounts, resulting in a total loss of financial liquidity. In some instances, workers continued to perform tasks and purchase materials despite having no funds.
The project was funded by the Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego and managed by the municipal company Regionalne TBS. While residents have begun moving into the buildings, the financial dispute remains unresolved. Marcin Golonka, president of the general contractor Remar, defended the company by claiming some subcontractors failed to meet deadlines and that the company itself is sometimes owed payments.
