Dąbrowa Municipality Launches Door-to-Door Transport Service

The Dąbrowa municipality has introduced a new door-to-door transport service designed to assist seniors and individuals with disabilities. The initiative includes a specially adapted nine-passenger bus and five assistants to support residents in their daily activities.

With a budget of 870,400 PLN, the program aims to overcome mobility barriers that prevent residents from reaching medical appointments, rehabilitation centers, or local offices. Mayor Katarzyna Gołębiowska-Jarek noted that the service addresses the challenges of traveling between the municipality's 14 villages, where standard bus stops are often difficult for those with limited mobility to reach.

Local residents have expressed relief regarding the service, noting that previous lack of transportation often resulted in missed medical visits and social isolation.
