DBS Bank ends Qantas Frequent Flyer rewards partnership
DBS Bank has permanently ended its seven-year partnership with Qantas Frequent Flyer, removing the ability for cardholders to transfer DBS Points to the Australian carrier’s rewards program. The partnership, which began in 2019, previously provided DBS customers with a second oneworld alliance transfer option alongside Cathay Pacific.
A spokesperson for DBS confirmed the removal is permanent rather than a technical error. The decision is attributed to low take-up rates, which likely failed to justify the operational costs of maintaining the partnership.
Following this change, DBS cardholders are left with a consolidated list of airline transfer partners, primarily KrisFlyer and Asia Miles, as well as AirAsia Rewards. Customers looking to accumulate Qantas Points must now utilize other financial institutions such as American Express, Citi, or HSBC.
